Wicca in the philippines
Today's date is september 25, 2004, this may be a good beginning to start some lesson.
in the philippine mainstream society, wiccans adopted the westernized way a chance of fusion or open-end practice. in an old english, wicca is "wicce" means female witch and "wicca", meaning wizard. Wiccans do not use the word "warlock" to a male witches. but then again if your in the philippines this may be considered... only in the philippines! in general, practitioner is considered as witches, but not all witches are wiccans. Warlock come from an old norse word "vardlokkur", in mythology vardlokkur is the guardian of the gates of knowledge. vardlokkur are group of sacred guard to ward off evil spirits and lock or bind them away to keep the sacred wisdom safe.
In Philippine setting, wiccan history is nowhere to be found, several people adopts the different practice of sects such as:
1. Classical Witches
- Early Nordic which included the Germanic languages, Dutch, Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish peoples.
2. Gothic Witches
- Celtic Anglo-Saxon which includes Druid, Irish, Scottish, and English, as well as, many of the French, and Italian cultures.
3. Neo-Pagan Witches
- Modern NewAge American which has primarily been influenced by the melding of all previous sects through imigration and the country's natural evolution.
The Classical Craft were Ceremonial, Stretega & Teutonic.
The Gothic craft were Caledoni, Celtic, Deborean, Farrar, Hereditary & Pictish
The Neo-Pagan craft were Alexandrian, British Traditional, Dianic, Eclectic, Gardnerian Wicca & Seax Wicca
Our origin does not provide any evidences, because we are more on hereditary practice. but the dawn of 1999 and the beginning of 2000, the alignment of the planet awaken the curiosity of Filipinos thus eclectic was born in the Philippines though some of the brethren now how to practice Ceremonial, Celtic, Gardnerian.
1996, dark wicca came into the picture, is it eclectic? the answer is YES, my practiced varies on different crafts. Why dark? Philosophically the answer is "To see the Light, one must first be aware of the Dark..." and the principle of polarity. but if for personal, "Dark" refers to my style of dress.
To answer the issue, Craft practitioner do not worship "the devil", Craft Practitioner are not Satanist.
"Evil" is different from "dark". as an example, when a person commits harm to another person in satisfying personal gain is considered "evil", on the other hand when nature laid its wrath, say volcano erupted and destroy the assets of man, this process is called "dark" because their was no evil or malicious intent on the part of the volcano. If darkness will be your guidance to enlighten the people so moth it be.
simple prayer:
hear my prayer, oh great God with manifold attributes, Bless me with your Knowledge to enlighten your creation. Let me bring the light to their mind and speak to unknown tongues.
Strike by your sword those who burn our brethens, so they may know your the Lord of them all, the great God of justice.
Take my Love with you everywhere and find the Power within
to be who you wish

There was a point in my life that was I was actually interested in the craft of the wise. It's part of an on going love-hate relationship I have with the unknown. I know I still have it but I'm having second thoughts because I am a Chrisitian. Then again I still do things that even my Christian relatives would be shocked! Hehehe!
